This week, I’ve been watching my friend, Phil Hornshaw’s Alien: Isolation walkthroughs on the notably difficult “Nightmare Mode.” The game is great throwback to the original Alien film, sharing some of the same set designs and tense soundtrack. It’s also total nightmare fuel. Of course, I found myself burrowing into the universe yet again, and decided to take a gander at the game’s Tumblr tags to see what fans were up to since the release. I found some pretty neat stuff.
Tumblr user, jonroru, created this adorable pixel art gif based on the game:
Another user, seegson, mocked up a vintage-style poster for the game based on one for the original film:
MayaPatch made a xenomorph look like a cute, overgrown kitty in this bit of fanart:
Meli Yensen captured some of the tension in the game with this drawing:
It’s great to see people getting into the Alien universe and bringing their creativity to the fandom. If you’ve seen anything related to Alien: Isolation or the Alien universe itself, let us know! We’d love to see it.
Phil’s walkthroughs are still being streamed live on Twitch, though he is nearing the end of the game. Follow him on Twitter (@PhilHornshaw) for upcoming times and other updates. You can also watch the entire series on his YouTube page.
