I stumbled across 5 Fandom Friday a few weeks ago, but I’ve finally got a chance to participate! You can read more about it here, but long story short, The Nerdy Girlie and SuperSpaceChick come up with geeky blogging prompts and share them with the rest of us.
This week’s prompt is a fun one: My Fictional BFFs (in no particular order)
1. Leslie Knope
Let’s be real. Leslie would be simultaneously the best and worst best friend ever, and that’s what’s so endearing about her. She’s loyal and devoted and loves with all of her heart, and even if she does sometimes go overboard (way overboard), you know she’s doing it because she loves you to death, you beautiful tropical fish.
2. Darcy Lewis
Darcy is perfect BFF material for me: smart, adorable, and snarky as hell. She’ll always have your back, whether its tasering gigantic blond men who fall from the sky or ogling said gigantic blond men who fell from the sky when they’re shirtless.
3. Wash and Kaylee from Firefly
I couldn’t choose just one of these two, so this one’s a two-for-one bargain. Wash would stick up for you in a fight, even if he’s not usually the fighting type, and he’d make you laugh when you’re having a bad day. Kaylee would share strawberries and talk about hot guys and cuddle with you on the couch. I love them both (and I don’t care what happened at the end of Serenity, la la la I can’t hear you).
4. Evelyn Carnahan
This one’s kinda cheating, because really, I want to be Evie from The Mummy. Or… it’s more like I actually am a real life version of her, except I’m not a librarian. But Evie’s so amazing. She’s smart and no nonsense and refuses to put up with bullshit and/or cowardly men (they always get their comeuppance). We could bury ourselves in Egyptology books and drink tea.
5. Claudia Donovan
Claudia is the newest member of my fictional BFF squad. Because I am perpetually late to the show, I just started watching Warehouse 13 about 3 weeks ago. And I binged it. #noshame
Claudia is my sarcastic hero. She’s funny, intensely clever, and so wonderfully human. I want to hug her and send snarky text messages and sing Runaways songs at the top of our lungs together.
