Severus Snape/Hermione Granger on FanFictionAlley.org. Back in the dial-up days where my mother would lose her mind if I spent more than 15 minutes “tying up the phone line” so I copy-pasted the story to a Notepad document and saved it to a floppy disk. It was Hogwarts era, May-December, animal transformation fic in which Hermione was the female equivalent of the Heir of Slytherin. She could turn into a snake. My most vivid memory of this fic is that I was (and still am) scared shitless of snakes and there was a scene (probably one intended to be sexy) where Hermione-the-Snake was slithering all over Snape’s legs and I almost died of fear. I think I kept reading other stories because I had to get over the emotional trauma of my first one. If I haven’t dated myself already from this story, I followed the link to FA.org from XANGA. I was in middle school.
