11/1/2010: Now updated for more links and better advice! ;D
Allow me to take this time to warn the reader that there will be discussion of and several beautiful, though “yaoi” in nature, pieces of art. “These are not the droids you are looking for” if you find this sort of thing to be offensive. :)
What is “yaoi,” you ask? “Yaoi” is a genre in Japanese for anime/manga that portrays two attractive men in love and/or just banging away because the opportunity presents itself. ;)

I’m not sure exactly as to how the Sephiroth x Cloud pairing came about, but I thank all things holy for their gift. I suspect that millions of FF VII fangirls partial to this pairing will agree with me. Though the source of Sephiroth x Cloud is not clear, I think we can probably blame it on fan fiction. It seems that many things that suddenly become “viral” in the fan world become viral through of fan fiction. Fan art seems to follow fan fiction (or so I’ve observed), and have I got links and art for you. ^.~
Fanfiction: Spring Kinkfest: FF VII tags – Browse through this particular set of tags to find some of the most scintillating pieces of Sephiroth x Cloud fanfiction (and even Sephiroth x Cloud x Zack fanfiction – GAAAAH!) you’ll ever find. Plus, you’re very likely to find some of your other favorite pairings in here. And take my word for it: it’s all very hot and very well written. Be sure to look into this community’s archives to find the really good stuff. ^.~
Fleeting Fancies Fanworks: Sephiroth x Cloud fanfiction – LOVE LOVE this fanfiction link bank. Again, there are too many good fics that the author of the site recommends that are hilarious, appropriately angsty or just plain sexy. Above they all, they are well-written.
My PrettyPuppet – A Sephiroth x Cloud Community – Here, you can find excellent and delightfully smutty fanfiction in addition to seeing artists work their magic with original artwork or Photoshopping icons and wallpapers. Also, if you join the community, you can download the occasional doujinshi that a kind-hearted person will post (Doujinshi is/are fan drawn comics).
And of course, a search through AdultFanFiction.net ought to reveal a little over 40 fics for Sephiroth and Cloud – quadruple the amount for the next pairing on the list – Cloud and Tifa. Finding a good piece of fiction may be a bit harder than it would be on Springkink, but I guarantee you, they are there. ^.^
DeviantArt.com also is a host to a wide variety of very talented artists – one of whom is “Minjanna,” who draws several couples, Sephiroth and Cloud being one such couple. I think you’ll agree with me when I say that her work is as beautiful as it is sensual. View Spoiler » Here’s a piece of art that’s done in my favorite art style – “manga” style, if you will. I was immediately drawn to the sexy, needy look on Cloud’s face and had to recommend it to fellow yaoi lovers, even if you’re not into FF VII. “Lucrecia” has also drawn several Sephiroth x Cloud pieces of art that I recommend you savor. “Lucrecia’s” Final Fantasy galleryView Spoiler » To be sure, this particular pairing isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s put a smile on my face and warmed me up nicely when I needed to mentally check out. It’s crack for yaoi lovers, if you will.
